N.L.W.Narasinghe of Kandy came out with flying colours at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Masters Athletics – 33rd Annual Championship – 2019 held at the Sugathadasa Stadium,Colombo. He competed in the 80 to 85 age group and secured first place in 1500, 5000, 2000 and 800 Metres events and won Four Gold Medals. He has been in Masters Athletics field since 1985 and won four gold medals in his age category in the same events held in 2013 in Geelong, Australia. Before that in the year 2006 he won 5000 Metres.in India in his age group. Apart from that in the year 2002 in China he won 5000 and 2000 Metres.events
With his achievement this year he was selected as the sole Athlete from Kandy by the Sri lanka Masters Athletic Federation to participate at the Masters Athletic Championship to be held in Malaysia from the 2nd to 7th of December, 2019 and he will compete in the 80 to 85 age category and has already started practising for this event.
