The Central Province netball team defeated Western Province netball team by 65 points to 32 to win the gold medal after a lapse of 14 years at the 45th National Sports Festival held at the Badulla Esplanade. The champion Central Province team comprising Thilina Wattegedara (captain), Gayani Dissanayake, Gayanjali Amarawansha, Sureka Kumari, Ruwini Yatigammana, Kaweena Rajapakshe, Dushani Bandara, Kusalika Aluwihare, Malithi Dissanayake, Yohansi de Silva, Faika Feroz and Ruwindi Abeysinghe with coaches Thushara Samaratunge and Inoka Senadheera and the Director of Sports (Central Province) Jagath Keerthi. The best player of the tournament was Gyanjali Amarawansha.
