Lucky Sports Club, Addalaichenai conducted their Sports Colours Night award ceremony at the Ainah Beach View Garden Conference Hall in Akkaraipattu recently to felicitate players who brought fame to Addalaichenai Lucky Sports Club.
It was held under the patronage of the Addalaichenai Lucky Sports Club president and senior journalist S.M. Aroos.
The chief guest at the ceremony Ampara Additional District Secretary A.M. Abdul Latheef distributed awards to the winners of the club and also presented a special award to government officers who were engaged in the sports activities in the Addalaichenai area at this ceremony.
Winners were congratulated and honoured by the guests on this occasion. The club members A.M.M. Rizwan, B.M. Nowshad, A.K. Hatheek and A.R.M. Siyath were awarded mementos and gifted prizes at the ceremony.
The Addalaicheni Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary M.I.M. Fayis and Attorney-at-law S.M. Fairoos was honoured and golden shawls with mementos was also presented to Addalaichenai Zahra Vidyalaya Principal M.S.M. Fairoos.
The Addalaichenai Lucky Sports Club athletic captain A.M.M. Rizwan won three gold medals in the 110m hurdles, relay 4x100m and 4x400m events at the Eastern Provincial Sports Festival - 2019 and brought honour to Lucky SC recently.
The National Youth Services Council Batticaloa District Assistant Director H. Ameer, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Deputy Leader and Senior attorney–at–law S.M.A. Gaffoor, Consumer Affairs Authority Executive Director and former Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman M.A. Anzil, the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) Sports Instructor S.M.B.M. Aasath, Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat Sports Officer M.H.M. Aswath, All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Akkaraipattu Organizer A.S. Abdul Basith, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Member Thameem Abdeen, prominent people of the community, Lucky Sports Club officials, founder members of the club, players and many others participated at the event.
