Zahira College Colombo topped their groups in the first and second rounds to qualify for the under 15 division quarter finals. Zahira are to host St Aloysius College Rathnapura today (26).
In the first round playing in Group A Zahira won on first innings against Defence Services College, Thurstan College and Mahanama College while no decision was reached in the games against Ananda and S Thomas’ College Mt Lavinia.
In the second round Zahira won on first innings against Galagedara MMV, Royal College Monaragala and Christ Church College Matale to lead group X with 19.120 points to their credit.
Skipper Raeed Rizwan anchored the team with both ball and bat scoring 442 runs with a century and three half centuries and captured 35 wickets with four 5 wicket hauls. Venkat Rajendran and Mohamed Ijaz contributed with half tons as well.
