‘Pot Black’ cue tournament to celebrate 75th anniversary of MICH

A “Pot Black” cue tournament in connection with the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Moors Islamic Cultural Home (MICH), who produced the first world champion of the country in billiards MJM Lafir is to be held on August 30 Friday and 31 Saturday with the final scheduled for 1 September at 4.30 pm.

This “Pot Black” tournament will be cued off at Pasha Villa, Dematagoda Road Colombo 9.

A total of 93 entries have been received with all top class cueists participating and where the winner will receive Rs. 50,000, runner-up Rs. 25,000, third placed Rs. 10,000 and fourth place Rs. 5,000.

Al-Haj Omar Kamil, president of MICH will grace the tournament as chief guest. The guest of honour will be the president of the Billiards and Snooker Association Noor Zulsky Passela.

Fareen Ghouse, chairman of the Social and Recreational Committee and his committee of the MICH are going all-out to make this tournament a grand success.
