Mihira Wijesinghe, who represented Kandy Cricket Club from 1985 to 1991 as a left hand frontline batsman and a brilliant fielder, passed away at the age of 53. After representing Dharmaraja College, Kandy cricket team from 1982 to 1985, he was selected to play for Kandy CC as a schoolboy. His contemporaries were, Senaka Dissanayake, Priyantha Weragoda, Dananjaya Nawaratne, and A.S. Ekanayake to name a few. After his club career he migrated to Dubai and remained there for more than 20 years. When he came back to Sri Lanka on a holiday he fell ill and passed away.
His remains are lying at the Borella Funeral Parlour and his funeral will be held today at the Borella Cemetery at 3.30 p.m.
