Chandrika wins Silver and Bronze at the World Senior Badminton C’ships

A proud product of Seylan Bank, Chandrika De Silva, also known as the champion of Sri Lankan women’s badminton for over a decade won the Silver in the women’s singles category and Bronze in the women’s doubles category at the recently concluded World Senior Badminton Championship. Chandrika is an 11-time national badminton champion and a 12-time national badminton doubles champion with over 20 years of experience under her belt.

Sharing her thoughts about the achievement Chandrika said “I am grateful and extremely happy about this win”.

“I competed against 29 countries in the over 40 age category and I’m proud of being able to put Sri Lanka on the map at this world championship. I am thankful to Seylan Bank for encouraging and permitting me to participate in tournaments such as this allowing me to follow my passion for Badminton”.
