Bandaranayake Central College, Veyangoda ‘A’ beat S. Thomas College Mount Lavinia ‘C’ by 128 runs in their Singer Cup Under 17 Division III Group B second round match played at Upali Gunarathna Grounds, Kirindiwela recently.
Bandaranayake Centralian Movindu Jayasinghe piled up 87 runs for his team when they won the toss and decided to bat first. Nimsara Kulathunga and Sankalapa De Silva contributed 47 and 44 runs respectively. Danuja Munasinghe made 28 to uplift their total to 258 in 49. 4 overs. Dimendra Mendis and Arshaag Amaan bagged 5 for 42 and 3 for 32 respectively.
In reply Thomians were bowled out for 130runs in 31.1 overs with Shane Barath (27) and Ragunathan Yugeshwar (22) the two batsman who successfully exceeded 20 run mark. The main wicket takerof Bandaranayake Central Sankalpa De Silva doing huge damage to opponents claimed 5 for 39. Pamith Adikari and Isuka Kemal bagged two wickets each for 22 and 29 respectively.
