Antonian Chamindu Wickremasinghe shines with century

 
Chamindu Wickremasinghe grabbed the limelight on the opening day of the 103rd Kandy Battle of the Blues cricket encounter by scoring a brilliant century against Trinity at Katugastota yesterday.   
Wickremasinghe batting brilliantly struck four fours and a six in compiling 128 off 190 balls to enable St Anthony’s College who chose to bat after winning the toss to a competitive total of 298-8 declared.   
Asitha Waninayake was also in the runs scoring an aggressive half century (65) with 11 fours.   
Kavisha Senadeera was the pick of the Trinity bowlers with four wickets for 98.   
Trinity in reply reached 20 for the loss of one wicket when rain at 4.50 pm brought an early finish to the day.   
The match continues today on its second day.
