The newcomers to school cricket Palannoruwa Madya Maha Vidyalaya of Gonapola, Horana has booked a berth in the fourth round of the All Island Under 13 Division three Cricket Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association for the Singer Trophy when they beat formidable Piliyandala Central College played at Piliyandala.
Batting first visitors declared at 150 for 9 with Kaveesha Anjana scoring 75 runs and Lavindu Mevan bowled best for the Centralians with three for 22 and in reply Homesters were bundled out for a paltry 99 runs with Isuru Minsara unbeaten on 42 and Kaveesha Anjana and Kalana Sathsara claiming 4 for 24 and 4 for 30 runs respectively.
Palannoruwa MMV – 150/9 dec. in 47.1 overs – (Kaveesha Anjana 75, Lavindu Menvan 3/22, Isuru Minsara 2/19, Jenuj Ranmira 2/49).
Piliyandala Central – 99 in 39.3 overs – (Isuru Minsara 42 n/o, Kaveesha Anjana 4/24, Kalana Sathsara 4/30).
