The fourth year coloursman, all rounder and captain of Siri Piyarathna College, Padukka Ashan Jayasinghe became the second under 19 division two player to pass the 1,000 mark in the on going inter school cricket season and he was short of 30 runs when he walked into the middle in their inter school first eleven cricket match against Dudley Senanayake Vidyalaya and worked off at Horana and homesters beat them by 24 runs. Ashan scored 1032 runs in fifteen matches with 26 innings and unbeaten twice at an average of 43.1.
