An all round performance by the captain of Piliyandala Central College (47 and 93 and 2 for 21) Malshan Gunatilleke was of no avail and Centralians had to be satisfied with a first innings win of 69 runs against Vidyartha College in their inter school first eleven cricket match Batting first Centralians scored 219 runs and Dumindu Imantha bagged 5 for 58 and in reply Vidyartha were all out with 150 runs and in their second essay Piliyandala lads declared at 256 for 7 and gave a target of 336 runs for an outright win and at stumps Vidyartha were 175 for 5 with Isura Prabadha and Madushanka Wijetilleke scoring 42 and an unbeaten 49 runs respectively.
Piliyandala Central – 219 in 52.1 overs – Malshan Gunatilleke 47, Janith Dilshan 42, Ashen Rodrigo 35, Dumindu Imantha 2/91, Madushka Wijetilleke 2/68.
Vidyartha College – 150 in 40 overs – Ushan Sangeeth 20 n/o, Madushanka Wijetilleke 24, Navod Dilshitha 20, Ushan Deemantha 2/29, Malshan Gunatilleke 2/21, Sasanka Lakshan 2/22 and 175/5 – Madushanka Wijetilleke 49 n/o, Isuru Prabodha 42, Kavishka Dilhara 27.
