A brilliant 164 runs by the Captain of Weera Puran Appu Model School Moratuwa E. A. Sahan enabled them to beat Munidasa Cumaranatunga Maha Vidyalaya Kaduwela by innings and 178 runs in their inter school under 13 division three tournament cricket match and played at Bomiriya. By virtue of this win Weera Puran Appu Model School qualified for the third round.
E. A. Sahan had twenty two fours and ten sixes and occupied the crease for 140 minutes and faced 125 balls.
Batting first Moratuwa lads scored 294 runs and in reply homesters were all out for 71 runs and following on they collapsed for a paltry 45 runs. Vihanga Sathsara had a superb match bag of 10 for 16 (4/10 and 6/6) runs.
