Santhush Gunathilake of St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya passed the 1000 runs milestone with 6 centuries and 2 half centuries in 10 innings for the season during his innings of 122 against DS Senanayake College in a ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 19 inter schools cricket match played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
Gunathilake scored 122 as St Peter’s in reply to DS Senanayake’s total of 269 hit a powerful 360-3 with Ranmith Jayasena also joining the run parade with an unbeaten 120. The match ended in a draw.
Vishmika Costa of Kalutara Vidyalaya took 14 wickets for 50 runs against Karandeniya Central.
