Old Thomians CC clinch Division Two cricket title

Old Thomians Cricket Club clinched the Division Two cricket title of Western Province when they beat Nomads Sports Club by 80 runs in their inter club finals worked off at Surrey ground Maggona.

Batting first Old Thomians scored 290 runs with Kishan Munasinghe making the top sure of 72 runs while Umayanga Suwaris contributed 49 runs. Damil Dilanka was the pick of the bowlers for Nomads with 3 for 11.

In reply Nomads were all out for 210 runs with Supun Madushantha and Lahiru Vilochana scoring 70 and unbeaten 69 runs. Kalana Perera bowled best for the winners with 3 wicketsfor 28 runs.

Old Thomians – 290 in 49.2 overs – Kishan Munasinghe 72, Umayanga Suwaris 49, Sithara Hapuhinna 30 Kalana Perera 29, Ravindu de Silva 27, Damil Dilanka 3/11, L. P. Dilantha 2/59, Ajantha Dandara 2/59, Lahiru Vilochana 2/60.

Nomads SC – 210 in 46 overs – Supun Madushantha 70, Lahiru Vilochana 69 n/o, Damil Nilanka 35, Kalana Perera 3/28, Dilshan Mendis 3/37.
