Nithmi excels in karate

Nithmi Prabhanjalee

Nithmi Prabhanjalee is an amazing student who brought honour to her alma mater – Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda by winning the first place in kumite in her age group at the Sri Lanka School Karate Championship 2018 held at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on December 29 – 30

She won the first place in the under 16 kumite girls event organized by the Sri Lanka School Karate Do Federation.

This 16 year old student has won many championships in kumite events at district and provincial levels since 2014

Sri gained the third place in kumite under 15 age group at the Sri Lanka school’s Senior Karate Championship 2016 organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Karate Do Association at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium.

Last year she won Galle district Karate Do Championship 2018 under 14-15 years organized by Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation . she had won the second place at the Galle district Karate Do Championship 2017 in her age group too

Nethmi also secured the third place in kumite - 42Kg 10.9.8 kyu event under 14-15 age at the Sri Lanka national Karate Championship 2017 – at Sugathadasa Indoor stadium She also showed her performance at Southern Province Karate Do Championship 2017 by winning second place in Female Karate Cadet 14-15 10,9,8 kyu - 42 Kg organized by the Karate Do Federation – Southern Province)

Nethmi who performed exceptionally in academic activiies obtaianed the third place in kumite held at the Halle De Galle Dharmasoka College recognized her exceptional performance in kumite at national and provincial level competitons at college’s colours awards in 2016 and 2017.

Nethmi said that she wants to continue her sports activities and bring honour to the college.
