A series of cricket matches to develop and encourage the cricketing skills of the younger generation of Waskaduwa, Kalutara has been organized by several sports clubs in the Waskaduwa and Kalutara North regions.
A number of cricket matches have been played at the Gamini S Kavirathna Stadium (Wadiyawatte Stadium) accordingly, and the first match was kicked off on January 06 and the next round matches are due to be held on January 13, 20 and 27 at the same venue.
The winning teams will be awarded a valuable cup along with Rs 20,000 in cash (for the champions) and the runners up teams will be awarded Rs 15,000 in cash and a valuable cup, according to the organizing committee.
