CR and FC’s coach Nilfer Ibrahim resigns

CR and FC’s coach Nilfer Ibrahim has tendered his resignation after the club’s poor display in the last three matches.

The Red shirts who notched up four victories in the first six games of the Dialog ‘A’ Division League were held to a 24-all draw by Army in their last first round game. Then they suffered a 21-14 defeat at the hands of the policemen in the first match of the second round and four days ago they were thrashed 33-10 by CH and FC and are lying fourth in the points table with 27 points.

CR and FC has an abundance of talented players but Nilfer has failed to harness their talent and motivate them especially in the last few matches and the club has appointed M. J. Mushtaq as interim coach for the rest of the season “said a club official The Longden place club has several outstanding schoolboy ruggerites of yesteryear Tarinda Ratwatte (Trinity) Supun Warnakulasuriya and Janindu Dilshan (Royal) Joel Perera and Rahul de Silva (Wesley) Reeza Refaideen (Kingswood) Kevin Dixon (St. Peter’s) Gemunu Chethiya( St Joseph’s) and Isipathanians Omalka Gunaratne, Sumudu Rankothge, Rehan Silva and Harith Bandara.
