A closely fought out battle can be expected between high riding CH and FC team against Air Force SC when they lock horns in their second round Dialog ‘A’ Division Inter-Club League rugby encounter at the Air Force grounds in Ratmalana today at 4.00 pm.
The Airmen are packed with some outstanding players of the calibre of cracking centre three quarter Charith Seneviratne, but they should get their act together if they are to pull off a win against the formidable CH and FC. There are several national players who are in their ranks therefore they should give off their best under the leadership of former St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya player cum hooker Lahiru Udayanga.
Meanwhile the young CH and FC outfit at present are in a rebuilding stage under the watchful eyes of head coach Ronny Ibrahim, ably assisted by experienced former CR & FC skipper and national captain cum hooker Viraj Prashantha.
Led by experienced club player and fly half Rohitha Rajapaksa they will know that losing this game could mean somewhat of a setback for them in the tournament. They have already lost games unexpectedly to CR & FC, Havelocks, Kandy SC and Army SC in the first round.
Hence they will come out with their best game plan for this match and will go out with all guns blazing to topple Air Force.
