Royal win under 15 division two cricket title

Royal College Colombo clinched the All Island Under 15 Division Two Inter Schools Cricket Championship for the year 2017 conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association for the Singer Trophy by beating St. Peter's College, Negombo in the finals.

The Royalists played fourteen matches in the tournament and they were unbeaten with thirteen wins and one no decision in favour of them. They were captained by Kaveen Ananda while their Master-in-Charge was Bala Murali and former Cambrian Rashan Peiris was the Head Coach and Junior Coaches were Nisansala Mendis, Prageeth Fernando and Lahiru Fernando. Visandu Sandeew was the highest run getter of the side with 525 runs followed by Resandu Tilakarathne 400 and Nethum Panapitiya 368. In bowling Uthum Disanayake was the leading wicket taker with 41 scalps while Kesara Kappagoda and Sadeesha Rajapakse claimed 31 and 30 scalps Altogether Royal cricketers notched up four centuries in the tournament.
