St. Servatius enter semi final by beating Thomians

Singer Cup Under 17 Division I Inter Schools Cricket Tournament:"

St. Servatius College Matara advanced to the semi final of the Singer Cup Under 17 division I inter schools cricket tournament by beating S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia by 11 runs in the quarter final played at Lyceum International School ground Wattala yesterday.

Keshara Nuwantha skipper of St. Servatius turned in a fine all-round performace.

St. Servatius Matara won the toss and elected to bat and scored 215 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Skipper Keshara Nuwantha scored 63 runs in 72 balls with 9 boundaries. Shashika Dulshan scored 45 runs. Kalana Perera and Dellon Peiris took 2 wickets each.

S. Thomas’ scored 204 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Mohamed Ishaq scored 43 runs and Kalana Perera scored 31 runs. Keshara Nuwantha took 3wickets for 28 runs while Naveen Sahith took 3 wickets for 45 runs.
