South Asian Cross Country C’ship Trials on Dec. 12

The Selection Trials for the South Asian Cross Country Championship are scheduled to take place on December 12th at Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex, Diyagama.

According to the Vice President of Sri Lanka Athletics G. L. S Perera the Trials will be held under four categories as Women -10km, Men -10km, Junior under 20 Men- 8km and Junior under 20 Women- 6km. All entries for the above trials will close by December 2 with Palitha Jayathilake, Asst .Secretary, Sri Lanka Athletics, 33, Independence Avenue, Colombo7. This is going to be good opportunity for long distance local athletes as they couldn’t take part International events due to global pandemic recently. The South Asian Cross Country Championship is scheduled to be held on 15 January 2022 in Kohima, Nagaland, India. (D.R)
