Hasaranga moves to third position among T20I all-rounders

Sri Lanka’s champion leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga achieved a career-high rating of 173 and moved to the third position at T20 all-rounder rankings. The 24-year-old Hasaranga who is also the number one T20 bowler has been in superb form in the T20 World Cup having 16 wickets including a hat-trick against South Africa. Plus, he impressed with the bat scoring 119 runs with a half-century (71 against Ireland) in eight matches with an average of 23. 80.

Hasanaga who was promoted to batting order at the Ireland matchmaking superb 123 runs fourth wicket match-winning partnership with Pathum Nissanka which was the highest partnership for the fourth wicket. Sri Lankan pair were able to erase the previous record of 107 runs between England’s Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan against West Indies in the 2012 T-20 World Cup game at Pallekele.

Pakistan’s Mohamed Nabi and Shakib al-Hasan of Bangladesh occupy the first two places in the ICC all-rounder rankings respectively. Australian Glenn Maxwell (165 rating) and Oman’s Zeeshan Maqsood (rating 160) were placed fourth and fifth on the latest all-rounder rankings.

Hasaranga is also the top T20I bowler with a rating of 797. He is followed by Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa and Adil Rashid of England at the bowling ranking.

Babar Azam of Pakistan, Dawid Malan of England, Aiden Markram of South Africa Aaron Finch of Australia are the top batters in the T20I arena. The Pakistan skipper Azam is in top form having impressed with the bat already scoring four half-centuries in this T 20 World Cup (264 runs with an average of 66.00 before the T-20 semi-final) while his teammate Mohammad Rizwan also in good form was placed sixth at the batting ranking.
