Asanga Seneviratne at the helm of RAC

Asanga Seneviratne

Asanga Seneviratne has been appointed as the Chairman of the Rugby Advisory Committee (RAC) by Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa, yesterday.

The Minister appointed the eight-member committee headed by former all round sportsman and businessman Asanga Seneviratne with a primary objective of uplifting the standard of the game in the country. The committee comprises some former players, rugby administrators and persons who served the game in various capacities. The Sports Minister has drafted Rizly Illyas; the incumbent president of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) considering his substantial contribution towards the development of the game in Sri Lanka. This committee is to join hands with the SLR and strive forward in developing the game to next level.

Members are as follows: Asanga Seneviratne (Chairman), Rizly Illyas, Hafees Marso, Dilroy Fernando, Wing Commander Eranga Geenganage, Rear admiral A.S.L.Gamage, Udani Edirisinghe and Dr.Lal Ekanayake. (A.N.)
