The Thirukkovil Football Club beat IRFC Football Club, Irakkamam 2:1 in a friendly soccer match and emerged champions which was held recently at the Irakkamam Riverbank Play Grounds.
IRFC Football Club, Irakkamam organized a friendly soccer match to foster ethnic harmony to mark the Haj Festival. The Thirukkovil Football Club and IRFC Football Club, Irakkamam took part in the match. Due to high competition between the teams no one was able to shoot a goal until half time. Player L.Rizad of the IRFC Football Club, Irakkamam team scored the first goal. In reply L. Latharsan and R.Sanoojan of the Thirukkovil Football Club shot goals to emerge champions.
‘Gathering of this nature will definitely bring about ethnic harmony among communities is the talk of the villagers’. All participated very keenly and enthusiastically.
