Six-member team for World Wrestling Meet

A six-member Sri Lanka Team will take part in the 17th World Wrestling Championships from October 2 to 10 in Oslo, Norway. The Sri Lanka Team will leave for Norway on September 29.

The Sri Lanka Team will be led by 28-year-old Madushanka Weerasooriya, who is set to compete in the Men’s 74kg weight category.

The only Woman’s competitor Nilushi Perera will compete in the 62kg weight class event.

Apart from the six wrestlers, Y. R. C. Perera (Coach) and Donald Indrawansa (Manager) will also accompany the team.

The Sri Lanka Wrestling Team:

(Men): Madushanka Weerasooriya (Captain) 74kg, Gayan Ekanayake (75kg), Charles Fernando (65kg), Anil Munasinghe (70kg) and Suresh Fernando (79kg).

(Women): Nilushi Perera (62kg).

(Officials): Donald Indrawansa (Manager) and Y. R. C. Perera (Coach).
