England undecided on Pakistan matches

Policemen stand guard outside the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) yesterday said that they will decide on their tour to Pakistan in the next 24-48 hours.

England's Men and Women's teams are due to play in Rawalpindi next month and the England and the ECB said it will decide "in the next 24-48 hours" whether the matches will go ahead.

The men and women are scheduled to play double-header T20 Internationals on October 13 and 14 before the women's side play three ODIs on October 17, 19 and 21 October.

An ECB statement said: "We're aware of New Zealand's decision to pull out of the Pakistan tour due to a security alert.”

"We are liaising with our security team who are on the ground in Pakistan to fully understand the situation. The ECB board will then decide in the next 24-48 hours whether our planned tour should proceed." (BBC)
