Asian Sevens Sri Lanka leg shifted to UAE

The third leg was to be held at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo

The Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) has shifted the Asia Rugby Sevens Series Men's and Women's third leg from Colombo to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The third leg, which was originally planned to be played on November 25 and 26 at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo, will now take place in the UAE with the dates unchanged.

The ARFU took this decision due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation in Sri Lanka.

If this tournament had taken place in Sri Lanka, then it would have been a tremendous boost for rugby fans in the Island.

But Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) has failed to conduct a single tournament at home for nearly two years and they have hampered the progress of all rugby players, coaches, support staff, referees, and all rugby administrators.
