The Sri Lanka Football Team has moved to the next round of the AFC Asia Cup 2023 Qualifier final-round to be held from end of August to mid-September 2021 with the venue to be announced later.
After the completion of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the AFC Asia Cup 2023 Joint Qualification round held in South Korea recently, Sri Lanka has advanced to the next round of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to be held later this year. This will be another good opportunity for the Sri Lanka Team to prove themselves after their fine performances against South Korea and Lebanon.
Sri Lanka are slated along with Maldives, Nepal, Hong Kong, Singapore, Afghanistan, Mongolia and Thailand in fourth placed group and among the 25-32 ranked teams in the AFC Rankings. (AN)
