Nalin Dhammika Abeykoon, the President of the Dharmaraja College, Cricket Foundation since 2019 to date is an outstanding cricketer, athlete,ruggerite and soccer player. He joined Dharmaraja College in1990 in the Grade.Six and before that he was at Royal College, Polonnaruwa.

In the same year he started playing Cricket under the coaching of Chandrasiri Bandara and Rugby and Soccer under the coaching of M.Srimal but as he started athletics he had to give up both rugby and soccer. In 1992 he was selected to play for the Under 15 Cricket team in School as an Opening Bowler,His best figures were claiming 5 wickets for 30 runs against Vidyartha College,Kandy.

In 1993 and 1994 he represented the under 17 team,His best bowling figures were five for 25 against St. Sylvesters’ College and 4 for 10 against Isipathana Vidyalaya Colombo after which he was selected to the Kandy District Under 17 Cricket team under the captaincy of Kumar Sangakkara in 1994.

In the 1994 --95 Cricket Season Dharmaraja team under the captaincy of Aravinda Ruhunuhewa remained unbeaten and became the best team in the Central Province and they were coached by Ananda Wijesekera. Nalin Dhammika with an unbroken partnership of 55 runs with Harsha Basnayake for the last wicket in 36 overs saved them from an innings defeat against DS Senanayake Vidyalaya, His contribution was 25 not out.

In 1996 under the captaincy of P.Ariyadasa against St.Sylvesters’ his best bowling feat was 6 for 29 and his highest score being 62 against Royal College,Colombo. In athletics he was placed first in Javelin Throw at the Central Province Schools Meet in both Under 17 and Under 19 age groups in 1994 and 1996.

In Soccer he played as right extreme and the School Soccer team became Runners-up at the soccer tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Football Association.

After leaving School he represented Kandy Cricket Club in the Under 23 Cricket Tournament and bagged 29 wickets in five matches, his best bowling feat being 7 for 48 against Moratuwa Cricket Club. After joining the Sabaragamuwa University he captained the Cricket Team as well as the Rugby Football and Elle teams and he won University colorurs for these sports disciplines. He obtained a second Class(Upper)in BSc Surveying Sciences Special and got an Instructor post at Faculty of Geomatics.

He continued playing for the University staff cricket team at the State Services Cricket tournament and scored 300 runs in five matches including 102 against Rajarata University and,took 16 wickets best figures being 5 for 30.
