Promising slow left-arm orthodox bowler Duvindu Tillakaratne started his campaign in the ECB Premier League with a fine performance in Liverpool on Sunday.
The 24-year-old, representing Orrell Red Triangle CC captured seven for 49 in the opening match against Leigh CC Lancashire at the Leigh CC Grounds.
Orrell Red Triangle CC lost the game but young Tillakaratne’s performance was highly appreciated by the club officials. This is the first time that Tillakaratne is participating in the ECB Premier League.
Tillakeratne who opened the bowling for his team in this game finally finished with excellent figures of 24.1-7-49-7.
Leigh CC scored 153 all out in 48.1 overs while Orrell Red Triangle CC were bundled out for 130 in 45.2 overs. They will play their next game against Northern CC next Saturday. (D.R)
