Two Sri Lankan cricketers have failed their mandatory fitness test conducted to qualify for the upcoming England Tour.
Sources said the two cricketers are part of the national team set to participate in the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh commencing on Sunday.
The two cricketers have failed to run the 2km in 8 minutes and 35 seconds as required in the fitness test. Their trials were conducted in Bangladesh yesterday.
However, the remaining members of the Sri Lanka national team have completed the test and have qualified to be selected for the upcoming England tour. The sources said the selectors have informed the two cricketers who failed the test to complete it during the tour of Bangladesh to be selected for the Tour of England. The two key players will be allowed to participate in the Bangladesh series. (D.R)
