Sri Lanka Army Women's Brigade “A” netball Team recorded a thrilling victory over the Sri Lanka women's Brigade “B” team and were crowned as the overall champions in the Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Netball Tournament which was held recently at the Army Indoor Stadium

Panagoda. This tournament was organised by the Army Netball Association.

K.B.Y. de Silva and J.M.A.S. Jayasundara won the Best Defender and the Best Shooter titles respectively and six teams participated in this competition and they came from four women’s regiments of the Sri Lanka Army. General Shavendra Silva was the Chief Guest at the final and awarded the champions trophies and medals to the winners and Major General Wijesinghe, Commadant of the Army Women’s Brigade centre L.P.W. Perera, President of the Army Netball Association Janaka Ratnayake President of the women’s Brigade Seva Vanitha unit Padma Perera and other senior officials of the Sri Lanka Army graced the closing ceremony.
