Football AGM rescheduled to June 7

The Sports Ministry yesterday decided to postpone the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for electing office-bearers for Football Sri Lanka (FSL).

The AGM has now been rescheduled for June 7 at the Racecourse Grounds commencing at 1.30 p.m.

The new date was finalised after a meeting between Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa and his officials yesterday.

“After a discussion and consultation, the Sports Minister decided to postpone the AGM and reschedule it for June 7,” Amal Edirisooriya, Director General of the Sports Ministry told the Daily News yesterday.

“We gave the option to FSL to hold the AGM at the Racecourse Ground in an open environment due to the pandemic situation. They are yet to conform to us about it.”

“Nevertheless, we will issue the necessary letters pertaining for their members to travel to Colombo for the voting during the lockdown status,” Edirisooriya added.
