FFSL elections to be postponed

Sports Ministry Director General Amal Edirisooriya said that the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) elections scheduled for May 30 is likely to be postponed and the final decision will be announced in due course.

“The football elections are conducting with a secret voting system and that is the main cause that we cannot conduct this election via Zoom,” Edirisooriya told the Daily News yesterday.

“There are 64 football league officials who are supposed to arrive in Colombo for this elections and the Inter-Provincial travel restriction is directly effecting for this,” he stressed.

“We have to discuss with the senior election committee officials and get a final decision very soon,” Edirisooriya concluded. (D.R)
