Mahinda favourites to beat Devapathiraja

Mahinda College will meet Devapathiraja College Rathgama in the Under-19 Division One Tier ‘B’ Cricket Tournament final at the NCC Grounds on Sunday.

Mahinda defeated Ananda College by 72 runs while Devapathiraja beat Dharmasoka College by 40 runs in their respective semi-finals.

Skipper Navod Paranavithna is the key player for Mahinda and they will also bank on Kausitha Kodituwakku, Sandev Induwara, Rashmika Madushanka and Kavindu Lakshan for a good score.

Lakshan and Subanu Rajapaksa are the two key spinners for Mahinda.

Meanwhile, Devapathiraja are the dark horses of the tournament as they recorded two upset victories against Isipathana College and Dharmasoka to reach the final. Skipper Sudeera Weerarathne is a useful spinner for Devapathiraja and they will also bank on Pawan Sandesh and Jeewaka Shasheen to put up a good performance.
