Hirantha helps St. Thomas’ take day two honours

An unbeaten 109 by Hirantha Lakshan helped St. Thomas’ College, Matara take full honours on day two of the 121st Battle of the Blues Inter-Schools Big Match against St. Servatius’ College, Matara, which continued at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota yesterday.

Hirantha was unbeaten on 109 scored off 138 balls (11 boundaries and a six) and together

with Nipun Samarasinghe (39 not out) shared an unbroken 128-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

St. Servatius’: 253 in 94.5 overs (Kushan Wijerama 70, Hirusha Jeewadith 3/25, Sineth Dissanayake 3/82)

St. Thomas’: 202/3 in 56 overs (Woshitha Amarasinghe 35, Hirantha Lakshan 109 not out, Nipun Samarasinghe 39 not out).
