Security Forces VB women shine on day one

The Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2021 Super League women’s category got underway on Friday at the recently opened Galle volleyball House. As expected the three security Forces teams recorded comfortable victories. Out of the four matches concluded on Friday, three games were completed with winners SL Navy, SL Army and SL Air Force securing their wins in straight sets.

The only game that went on for the maximum of five sets was between MAS Casual line SC and SL Ports Authority SC. MAS Casual, who entered the court with a high morale won the first set 25-20 but failed to maintain the tempo in the following two sets losing them at 20-25 and 21-25.

MAS Casual Line Spikers came up strongly in the fourth and the final sets to outplay the Port Workers thrillingly to make a grand win. SL Army also recorded a very easy victory over National Youth Council Spikers beating them in straight sets 3-0. The most interesting game of the day was seen between Soldiers and National Youth Services Council Spikers. Soldiers never allowed the opponents to go past the 20 point mark in all three sets.

The Security Forces women spikers dominated on the second day of the Volleyball Championship at the Volleyball House in Dadella, Galle, yesterday. The tournament will be continued today on day three.

Day One Results (Friday):

Sri Lanka Navy beat Mahauswewa SC 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-22)

Sri Lanka Army beat NYSC 3-0 (26-10, 25-12, 25-11)

SL Air Force beat Hirdaramani SC 3-0 (26-24, 25-8, 25-11

MAS Casual Line beat SL Ports Authority 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-5)

Day Two Results (Sunday):

SL Navy beat National Youth Services 3-0 (26-9, 25-8, 25-20)

SL Army beat Mahauswewa 3-1 (25-20, 25-13, 20-25, 25, 25-6)

SL Air Force beat MAS Casual Line SC 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-15)

Hirdaramani SC beat SL Ports Authority 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 22-27, 25-22)
