Former TT champ Chalitha felicitated

Roshan Chaminda, secretary of the schools TTA, Chatura Dushan, secretary of the TT Coaches Association and Sameera Raja, president of the SR TT Academy hand over the special memento to Chalitha Ranjana.

Former National Table Tennis champion Chalitha Ranjana was felicitated by the SR Table Tennis Academy during the Southern Province TT Championship which was held recently at the Sri Wijayarama Hall, Ambalangoda. Chanul Dulsen of Dharmasoka College emerged champion of the tournament while Isuru Anjana of the same school secured the runner up position.

The four-time National champion Chalitha is the only medal winner at the 2004 Commonwealth TT Championship in Malaysia. He was also a member of the Sri Lankan team at the South Asan Games in 1999, 2003 and 2010. A product from the Sri Devananda Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda, Chalitha performed well at both local and International tournaments to win several medals . He won six golds, three silvers and a bronze medal at the previous New Zealand Open TT Championship. He is also the present Mercantile TT champion, representing Seylan Bank. DR
