Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has announced his retirement from international cricket.

“I think this is the correct time for me to retire from International cricket and provide a chance for the youngsters,” the 37-year-old right-arm paceman told the Daily News.

“I have decided to continue playing domestic cricket and already I have played for 19 years for the SSC giving my best,” added the former schoolboy of De Mazenod College.

Prasad has represented the country in 25 Tests, 24 One Day Internationals and in one T20I and his last series was in 2015 against the West Indies. (D.R)
