Vichinthya Nilaweera and Dinara de Silva clinched the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-14 Singles titles respectively at the National Tennis Championships, which continued at the SLTA courts in Green Path yesterday.

Vichinthya, from Stafford College defeated Ransath Peiris 6-1, 6-1 in the Boys’ Under-14 final while Dinara, from St. Bridget’s Convent had the better of Vishmi Serasinghe 7-5 7-6 (2) in the Girls’ Under-14 final.
Meanwhile, Ruvi Lewkebandara of Gateway College won the Girls’ Under-16 Singles title when she defeated Hasali Gajaba 6-3, 6-4 in the final encounter.
In addition, Thehan Wijemanne of Royal College and Chathurya Nilaweera of Stafford College won the Boys’ Under-18 Doubles title when they overcame the combination of Luca knees and Kavisha Rathnayake 6-2 6-1 in the final.
