Tissamaharama SC defeated White Tigers SC, Hambantota by six goals to one to record their second consecutive win with another brilliant performance on Saturday at the D. A. Rajapaksa Stadium. With this victory Tissamaharama lads take the top slot in the points table in week two are on a strong footing to reach the final stage.
Both teams fought a good battle in the first half with the two teams scoring a goal each and returned to the pavilion for the break at one all.
Tissamaharama lads with the hope of extending their chances to reach the top slot played good soccer to add five goals during the second session while their opponents failed in all their attempts to score. Full credit should go to the defenders who played a vital role during the second half for the winning team. While the defenders were doing their best front liners found the net on five occasions to add more goals to the total and made the final score read 6-1.
Beliatta FC win
Beliatta FC defeated Tangolians Football Club by one goal to nil in the second game on Saturday at the Beliatta Stadium. It was the first game of day two of the ongoing Hambantota Football League tournament which commenced last week.
The victorious team was in front at the halfway mark with the score reading one nil in favour of winners.
Rreturning after the break both teams displayed good soccer with one side trying to get the equalizer while the winners were engaged in a battle to increase the lead to get to a better goal aggregate.
