Three Sri Lankan uncapped players Dhannajaya Lakshan, Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana will play in the Abu Dhabi T-10 League cricket tournament from January 28 to February 6, at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium Abu Dhabi.
22 year old promising all-rounder Old Richmondite Dhanajaya Lakshan,the best Emerging player of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) tournament has been picked by the Northern Warriors to play in the Abu Dhabi T-10 League cricket tournament
Earlier 12 Sri Lankan players were picked for this Abu Dhabi T-10 tournament but Lakshan was originally not named for this tourney. Nuwan Pradeep’s injury has paved the way for Lakshan to join the Northern Warriors team.
The following Sri Lankan players were picked for the T-10 tournament. 20 years old Old Benedictine Maheesh Theekshana (Jaffna Stallions) from Sri Lanka Army CC was also picked for the Northern Warriors. 18 year old Matheesha Pathirana from Trinity College Kandy will play for Bangla Tigers. Thilina Kandamby will coach Bangla Tigers in this tournament. He also coached Champion Jaffna Stallions in the inaugural LPL last month. (YK)
