Pathum Nissanka-best average in world first class cricket

Isipathana College, NCC and Sri Lanka ‘A’ right hand opening batsmen Pathum Nissanka has the best average from the players currently playing first class cricket in the world.

Pathum Nissanka has scored 3445 runs in 33 matches with a stunning average of 67.54. He is followed by India’s Hanuma Wihari with 7046 runs in 88 matches with an average of 58.03. Australia’s prolific run getter Steven Smith is in third place, where he has amassed 11709 in 132 matches at an average of 57.95. In fourth place is Bangladesh right hander Mossadeck Hussain who has scored 3097 in 39 matches with an average of 57.35 closely followed by Pakistan left hander Fawad Alan with a tally of 12724 in 174 games averaging 56.42. Rohith Sharma India’s one day vice captain is in sixth place scoring 7114 in 92 matches averaging 56.04. England emerging wicket keeper cum 22 year old right handed middle order bat Ollie Pope occupies the seventh place with 2972 runs in 43 games averaging 55.03 while Indian captain cum run machine Virat Kohli is in eighth place scoring 9567 runs in 119 matches piling up an average of 53.91.
