The Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) sent two of their members to South Africa yesterday to monitor and make the necessary arrangements to receive the Sri Lanka National cricketers to commence their two match test tour which is to begin from 18 of this month.
The head coach Mickey Arthur and Dr. Daminda Attanayake, Sports and Exercise Physician serving in the SLC committee of doctors left for further arrangements. After consulting the relevant Health Authorities both locally and in South Africa followed by the assurance and the final green light given by Cricket South Africa(CSA), SLC confirmed this tour where the whole
contingent including the players and officials will form into a health bubble from their arrival to their departure there.
As per SLC sources these two advanced party members will look into the arrangements pertaining to the health issues and the player’s comfort. The National team will leave on the 17th of this month on a regular flight while their return will be on a special charter flight operated by Sri Lankan Airlines on the 8th of January.
On the return the team will straight away get into a health bubble along with the England team in preparation for the two off test series where both the matches will be played at the Galle Cricket stadium. (AN)
