Angelo Perera returned to form with a magnificent half century to help Dambulla Viiking record a morale boosting five-wicket win over Kandy Tuskers in their Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 Cricket Tournament second-round match played under lights at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota on Thursday.
The elegant right-hander hit a top score of 67 as the Viiking managed to overtake their opponents’ score of 156 runs with five wickets and four deliveries to spare.
Perera, batting at number three played the sheet anchor role and steered his side towards their target while hoisting three sixes and stroking five boundaries.
Earlier, the Kandy Tuskers struggled to reach a modest 156 for six mainly due to two superb contributions from Kusal Perera and Kusal Mendis.
