Savindu Uthsara of Isipathana College Colombo turned in a fine all-round performance in the Under-19 Division One inter Schools Cricket (Two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association in the 2019/20 season.
Left hand batsman Savindu Uthsara scored 610 runs in 16 matches with five half centuries in the first eleven season His best batting performance was 90 runs against Maliyadeva College Kurunegala. He made half centuries against Mahinda Galle (53), St. Sylvester’s Kandy (51), Kingswood Kandy (50*) and Thurstan Colombo (70). He claimed 48 wickets for 745 runs with 2 five wicket hauls and one ten wicket haul. His best bowling performance in an innings was against St. Benedict’s Kotahena. He took 5 wickets for 86 runs against St. Joseph’s Colombo. His best bowling performance was a match bag of 10 wickets for 53 runs against St. Benedict’s Kotahena.
Savindu joined Isipathana College in 2008. He commenced his cricket career from Roy Dias cricket academy in 2010 and he represented the under 12 team of Roy Dias academy in 2011 and 2012. He joined school Cricket at the Academy of Isipathana College Colombo in 2011. He was adjudged best batsman of the College academy tournament in 2012. He represented the college under 13 ‘C’ team in 2013. He scored only 144 runs with a half century and claimed six wickets. He represented the school Under 13‘A’team in 2014. He captured 15 wickets.
His best bowling performance was 5 for 13 runs against Debarawewa National School in 2014. He led the school Under 13 ‘A’ team in 2015. He scored 200 runs with a fifty and claimed 12 wickets. Savindu scored 82 runs against Dharmapala College Pannipitiya in the same tournament.
He represented the college under 15 team in 2016 and scored 205 runs with a fifty and claimed 12 wickets. He made 60 runs against Rahula College Matara. He represented Colombo District under-15 team and Western Province Central team in the Inter Provincial Prima Champions Trophy Tournament the same year.
He led the school under 15 team in 2017. He scored 270 runs with a century and two fifties and claimed 30 wickets. His best batting performance was unbeaten 100 runs against President’s College Maharagama and scored unbeaten 56 runs against St. Anthony’s College Wattala in the same season.
Savindu represented the college under 17 team in 2018 and scored 280 runs with two half centuries. He made half centuries against St. Sylvester’s College Kandy (70) and St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa (50). He claimed 13 wickets with a hat trick against Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo. He represented the college first XI team as a fresher in 2018/19 season. He scored 232 runs and claimed 32 wickets with a five wicket haul. He claimed 5 wickets for 40 runs against Lumbini College Colombo. Savindu Uthsara passed the O/L exam in 2018 with 1A,2B,5C and 1S. He is studying in the advanced level in Commerce stream.and will sit the A/L exam in 2021.
Savindu represented the college under 17 team in 2019. He scored only 104 runs with a half century. He scored 60 runs against Nalanda College Colombo.
