19 year old Mayen Ahinsa Udeni Kumari is the present Games Captain of Taxila Central College, Horana and in addition to athletics she has represented her Alma Mater in Throw Ball, Kabaddi, Cricket, Netball, Elle and Volleyball and in last years School’s Colours Nite she was adjudged the Best Girl Athlete of the school. She won a Sports Scholarship to Taxila Central, Horana in 2014 and in the under 14 and 15 age groups she came second in long jump and high jump. In 2015 she won the first place in triple jump and came second in long jump and hurdles and came first at the divisional meet. She won the hurdles, triple jump and inter school relays in 2015. She won colours in the Junior Nationals Meet doing her pet event.
In the under 17 age group she won at the Zonal level at the Provincial Meet and in the under 18 too she repeated same performances. Competing in the under 20 age group she became the Best Athlete and In the Provincial meet she won places. Participaing in the youth national meets in 2018 and 2019 In 2020 she was the divisional champion and in the youth district meet she became the champion in 2018 and 2019 and carried away Best Athlete Prizes. In the all island youth meet she won the triple jump and in the Horana Division Secretariat Meet she won the hurdles and the triple jump and her school won the relay event.
Participating at the John Tarbet meet in 2015 she won colours. In 2016 she was second in triple jump. In the Milo Track and Field Meet she won all her events and became the Best Athlete in 2018 in the District Secretariat Meet in the under 20 age group she got places for her events and in the 2019 schools colours nite she was adjudged as the Best Girl Athlete of the year. In addition to athletics she was a member of the School Kabaddi, Cricket, Elle, Volleyball and Netball teams and she was the captain of the netball team in 2017.
