Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) tied another not, with another sponsorship, this time getting Cristal and Life, two brands coming under My Cola Beverages Private Limited on board as their “Official Bottled Drinking Water Partner,’’ at a ceremony held at Shangri La Hotel last Friday.

After signing the same sponsors as their official carbonated beverage partner earlier this year, SLC managed to negotiate to acquire the two leading mineral water products in the country namely ‘Cristal and Life’ as their official bottled water partner for the next three years. The signing of the Memorandum of understanding(MOU) was held last Friday at Shangri La Hotel, Colombo.

A product which is in existence in the market for almost two decades, a fully funded Sri Lankan company managed to get the sponsorship after a formal bidding process conducted by the SLC, where their deal found quite attractive in the process. My Cola is the fourth in the market as the Carbonated Beverage producer and expects to boom their business with this tie up with the SLC.

Mohan de Silva, Secretary of SLC speaking at the event said that “It is indeed a privilege and pleasure in consolidating this existing partnership with My Cola. We would like to work together in a close relationship where both parties are benefited. We are happy that a Sri Lanka firm has come forward to get on board at these difficult times when some other companies are finding it tough going. I thank Mahinda and his esteemed company for coming forward to sponsor SLC and having confidence in us.”

Under this agreement with SLC, My Cola Beverages will have the exclusive bottled drinking water availability rights within each stadium and match locations during the term, which shall include the right to engage in the sale and distribution of bottled water to the general public.

In return, the company will provide bottled water to players, officials, guests and VIPs at hospitality enclosures, accredited journalists, media persons and TV crew during all international matches. This is also apart from making a significant investment towards the promotion of the game of cricket in Sri Lanka.

“As a Sri Lankan Company, it is a great honour and a privilege to be the “Official Bottled Drinking Water Partner of Sri Lanka Cricket” in addition to being the “Official Carbonated Beverages Partner of Sri Lanka Cricket”, said Sharm Fernando, Executive Director and CEO of My Cola Beverages Private Limited.
