Darshaka Sandeep- a promising cricketer

Fourteen year old Halamba Darshaka Sandeep represented his Alma Mater Devapathiraja national School, Ratgama in the 2019/20 cricket season as the Baby of the Team. He bats right hand and bowls right arm off spin and is a very good fielder

He commenced his schooling at Ernest de Silva Junior School, Ratgama and participated in the Inter House Athletic Meets and he did 50 and 100 metres events

He was admitted to Devapathiraja College to Grade 6 and as he was keen on cricket his parents sent him to the Foundation of Goodness and attended cricket practices under Mr. Ranjan. In his first year itself he was selected to the under 13 cricket team under Mr. Ranjan and in his first year he claimed 25 wickets. In his second year he scored 403 runs with a top score of 97 runs against Prince of Wales’ College, Moratuwa He notched up six fifties and captured 28 wickets.

With these performances as an under 14 player he was promoted to the first eleven cricket team and played in 12 matches and scored 160 runs.
